The Future Scholar Programme offers a rare, elite opportunity for students aged 14–18 to step into the real laboratories of the University of Oxford, the University of Cambridge, or Imperial College London — not as tourists, but as junior researchers. Over two intense, immersive days, you will work side-by-side with world-leading professors in fields such as Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, Life Sciences, Medicine, Data Science, and Business.
You will

Attend exclusive lectures by G5 faculty actively shaping global research
Design and conduct authentic experiments using the same equipment as PhD candidates
Write a formal academic report under direct supervision
Receive a personally signed letter of recommendation from your professor — verified, credible, and invaluable for UCAS applications
This is not a programme for the curious. It is for the committed.
With a maximum of four students per cohort, every participant receives bespoke mentorship — no group tours, no superficial activities. Just deep, focused, transformative science.
This is how future scientists are made.
Why WISESPROUT Is Unmatched
WISESPROUT Programme | Other Programme |
|---|---|
Strategic Timing
: Programmes scheduled during UK half-term breaks to avoid school conflicts | Summer-only dates that overlap with family holidays or exam prep |
Ultra-Small Cohorts
: Maximum of four students per session, ensuring intensive, bespoke guidance | Group sizes of 20+ with minimal individual attention |
Verifiable Letter of Recommendation
: A personally signed reference from the professor, suitable for UCAS and university applications | Generic participation certificates with no personalisation or credibility |
Academic Output
: Students write and submit a formal scientific report, reviewed by the supervising professor | Completion of simple worksheets or reflective journals with no academic rigour |
Direct Professor Supervision
: Each student mentored one-to-one by a current Oxford, Cambridge, or Imperial professor | Led by teaching assistants or tour guides; professors rarely present |
Authentic Research Environment
: Hands-on experiments in active G5 laboratories using real scientific equipment | Observation-only visits to empty labs or demonstration rooms |
Who Is This For?

-
The Future Scholar Programme is designed for ambitious secondary students aged 14–18 who are preparing to apply to UK universities — particularly the G5 — and seek more than just a surface-level experience.
-
You do not need prior research experience.
-
You do need curiosity, intellectual courage, and a desire to see what real academic life looks like — not through a tour guide’s lens, but through the microscope.
-
We provide pre-programme reading materials tailored to your chosen field, so you arrive prepared.
-
All you need is a working level of English — enough to engage with lectures, ask questions, and collaborate in a lab setting.
-
This is not for those seeking a holiday.
-
It is for those ready to take their first step as a scholar.
What Our Scholars Say
“I thought research was something you read about in textbooks… until I synthesised a novel nanomaterial in Cambridge’s lab. Those two days changed how I see science — and myself.”
— L.Y., Guangdong | Accepted into Materials Science, University of Cambridge
“My professor wrote that I showed ‘intellectual rigour beyond my years.’ That letter didn’t just strengthen my UCAS application — it gave me confidence I could belong at the highest level.”
— Z.H., Shanghai | Accepted into Computer Science, Imperial College London
“While others were taking photos, we were running experiments. This wasn’t a tour — it was the beginning of my academic journey.”
— M.L., Jiangsu | Accepted into Medicine, University College London
“I came in unsure if I was ‘smart enough.’ I left knowing I had the curiosity — and the grit — to keep going.”
— T.W., Beijing | Accepted into Natural Sciences, University of Oxford
